I am very excited to share with you some of the highlights from Bootcamp 3.0.
An online boot camp is a virtual training program that offers an intensive and immersive learning experience. These boot camps are designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a particular field of industry.

Online Bootcamps typically feature a combination of lectures, projects, and assessments, delivered through a variety of online platforms and tools.

Online boot camps offer a number of benefits for individuals looking to gain new skills and advance their careers. Here are some of the key benefits of online boot camps:

1. Flexibility: online boot camps allow participants to learn from anywhere in the world, at their own pace and on their own schedule.

2. Hands-on learning: Online Bootcamps provide a practical and immersive learning experience, with a focus on real-world projects and applications.

3. Accessibility: Online Bootcamps provide a more affordable and accessible alternative to traditional academic programs, with many programs offering financing and scholarships.

Online boot camps have emerged as a popular and effective way for individuals to gain skills and advance their careers. With the rise of remote work or Work from home(WFH) and digital learning, online boot camps offer a flexible and accessible way to acquire in-demand skills and knowledge, without the need for in-person or traditional academic programs.

Bootcamp 3.0 was organized from Virtual Labs IIT Roorkee dated November 1st, 2022 to January 31st, 2023. There were two participating institutes  GNDEC, Ludhiana, and the COT, Pantnagar. With the collaboration of the IIT Virtual lab team and all the participants, we have developed the Basic Electrical Science lab consisting of 10 experiments.

From the Virtual labs IIT Roorkee team there were 3 members involved in the boot camp and from the GNDEC, Ludhiana there were 6 participants and from COT, Pantnagar there were 2 participants.

                                                                    Timeline

During the first week of our Bootcamp, we had a small welcome session with the instructors and the participants where we showcase an overview of the curriculum and expectations of the program. During the first week, we were more focused on team-building activities to help each and every participant get to know their fellow participants and also help them build their soft skills. Then, later on, the task was assigned to the students to evaluate their technical skills. Based on the evaluation, we divided all the students into three teams:

TEAM 1: Front-end team

TEAM 2: Back-end team

TEAM 3: Developed a basic Template and Provided the needed content

The development of the experiments started in a stepwise manner which includes the below steps::

Plan the structure -> Design the user interface -> Develop the Back end part-> Merging the front end with the back end -> Test the experiment  -> Refine and improve the experiment(Updation part)

We focused on the theme of our experiments and we had an amazing lineup of talented experts in the electrical department as well as in the Computer science department who shared their insights and expertise on the topic. The sessions were very informative and inspiring. Our boot camp program covers front-end and back-end development, and deployment of the final product.

Throughout the 12-week program, students/participants will have access to a variety of learning resources including Coding exercises, projects, and assessments. They also received feedback and support from experienced instructors and a community of peers.

The program was designed in such a way that it allows all the participants to learn at their own speed. However, weekly milestones and assessments are provided to ensure that all the students stay on track and make progress toward their goals.

At the end of the boot camp, participants will have the skills and portfolio to pursue a career as a Software developer. They also received a certificate of completion to showcase their achievement.

These projects were designed to help the students apply what they have learned and gain practical experience in their field of interest.

Some of the topics covered included :

1. Github, Html, CSS, and Javascript

2. Deployment and scaling

Furthermore, when we were starting our second week the students got to connect with each other and build meaningful relationships with each other. We believe that one of the most valuable aspects of this boot camp is the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and a supportive group. We kicked off the second week with a series of interactive sessions on the coding basics.

Now, till now all the students were familiar with the theme of the experiments so our main focus shifted to the backend part of the experiments.

During the third and fourth weeks of the Bootcamp, we started working on refining our ideas (updation of our experiment) so we take the full week to update any pending thing we left.

On the final day of the bootcamp, we held our pitch day event. All the participants presented their Final projects to prof. R.S. Anand and to our team. All were impressed by the creativity of the project and finally, we end the day and the meeting with good wishes from our prof. R.S. Anand.
